For the past 30 years, volunteers have been playing a key role in making the Walk a huge success. As we prepare for the 31st Annual Walk for the Animals we are once again in need of a dedicated volunteer staff to man positions throughout the event including setup and breakdown.

Our volunteers play a critical role in helping to ensure the Walk is a huge success. You can be an important part of this day. The positions require you to be on-site early in the morning and you will be working for the duration of the day (during Walk hours), so you will be unable to participate in the actual Walk itself. This is a physical day that will require you to walk, stand, be exposed to music and many, many people. You will have the opportunity to chat with many animal lovers and visit with hundreds of happy dogs. One thing we can guarantee is you'll take home great memories from the 2021 Walk for the Animals.

Because this is a hectic day, we require that all volunteers leave their pets at home so they can fully concentrate on the event. We also request that Walk day volunteers are 18 years or older, however there will be limited positions available for responsible teens accompanied by an adult throughout the event. These positions, as well as all volunteer positions, must be scheduled prior to Walk Day. We apologize, but we will not be able to accommodate volunteers who have not pre-arranged their position.

The Humane Society of Broward County is making every effort to put precautions in place to protect our participants, staff, volunteers and animals due to COVID-19. Because of the uncertainty of this virus, we reserve the right to make changes to our Walk day activities if we feel it is necessary to avoid putting anyone at potential risk of exposure or danger of any kind. We respect and appreciate our participants, and ask for your understanding as we prioritize safety for all involved.
