Mark your calendars!
Join thousands of animal lovers on Saturday, March 7, 2020 for the 30th Annual Walk for the Animals in beautiful downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The festivities take place at Huizenga Park starting at 8:00am. Participants can grab S'Wag from over 30 sponsor booths, enjoy piping hot pancakes courtesy of IHOP, then get ready for the optional 1.25 mile walk as it winds its way through the streets of Downtown Fort Lauderdale and back along the scenic New River.
Walk for the Animals is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest annual fundraiser and has grown tremendously since its inception 30 years ago.
Our first walk welcomed fewer than 100 people and a handful of dogs. Fast forward to our 2019 event where we proudly welcomed over 5,000 people and 2,000 dogs and netted over $610,000 for the animals at the Humane Society of Broward County. Each year we see amazing growth and support from all around South Florida and beyond. It is because of the generous support from our participants and sponsors that we are able to give thousands of homeless animals a second chance at happiness and continue the programs and services offered by our shelter.
The Walk for the Animals is free to the public with no required registration fee. Instead, we encourage participants to raise funds to support the shelter. The more money a Walker or Pack raises, the more incentives they earn whether they attend the Walk or choose to watch on social media as a Virtual Walker.
We hope you'll join us to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals.
