Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 30th Annual Walk for the Animals!
For over 30 years, the Walk for the Animals has served as the Humane Society of Broward County's largest annual fundraiser, and I am now IN CHARGE of it.
Before taking on this amazing role, I was not aware of the incredible work that this shelter does and what impact it makes on our community.
For starters, people think HSBC is "just a shelter." While we offer open admissions and help provide homes for animals surrendered to us, we also provide services that are not publicly advertised/known about such as our Pet Surrender Prevention program. This is an income-based assistance program, which helps families from surrendering their pets due to an inability to afford a pet deposit, food, medicine, or surgical procedure. Without this vital program, many pets are simply abandoned on the streets and left to die.
By joining my team and fundraising or donating to the Walk, you are helping thousands of animals that come through our doors each year. Every dollar supports us as we provide veterinary care, food, shelter and much more to every animal we see.
I hope you will consider joining me or donating to me and supporting the tremendous work of the Humane Society of Broward County.
P. S. The main thumbnail picture of the cute little brown mixed breed puppy is a little guy that I found wandering in the middle of the street when I was on my way to work. I picked him up and brought him to the HSBC to see if he has a chip to locate its owner.
No chip. He was reported to BC Animal Care. I posted his pic and story in Nextdoor and a few FB groups. I knocked on doors on my street, and no one has ever seen him before. While we do not accept strays, he is a lucky pup who was found by the right person. :) We have three good, vetted families who are waiting to adopt him. He is one of thousands of animals that we help every year. Please join me!!
